Presence of Glass Pieces Leads to Emerald Cashew Recall

April 4, 2016

Snyder's-Lance has announced a recall for a snack product due to a manufacturing error.

The salty snack maker is recalling Emerald brand 100 Calorie Pack Roasted & Salted Cashew Halves & Pieces after the discovery that some packets may contain small glass pieces.

The company believes that the source of the glass can be traced back to raw cashews it received from one supplier under a specific lot code.

The recalled product was sold in .62 ounce packages.

For a full list of UPC codes, best-before dates, and production codes, see the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) release. The recall announcement was made after the company received a complaint from a consumer. To date, no injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

Consumers who may have purchased the recalled product should not consume it. Contact the company for a full refund.
