A license plate visibility issue has prompted an SUV recall from Land Rover.

The automaker has announced that it is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicles. In the affected models, the rear license plate lamp housing may lose retention within the tailgate finisher, causing it to fall out.

If this occurs, that rear license plate will not be illuminated, as required by regulation.

According to the manufacturer, about 14,700 vehicles are affected by this issue.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace both rear license plate lamp housings, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin June 27, 2016.
