Kanan Enterprises is recalling its Southern Grove Unsalted Almonds due to the presence of wheat and soy that are not listed as ingredients on the label.

Allergy Risk

This recall was initiated after the company was notified by a consumer that wasabi almonds were packaged in a bag labeled as unsalted almonds. The wasabi almonds contain wheat and soy.

People who have an allergy to wheat or soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected almonds. To date, no adverse reactions have been reported associated with this recall.

Recalled Product Details

The recalled Southern Grove Unsalted Almonds come in a 14 oz. stand up pouch bag bearing a UPC number of 0 41498 24647 1 and a date code of Best By SEP 25 2018 KN.

These almonds were sold at ALDI stores in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. No other products or date codes are impacted by this recall.

What should consumers do?

Consumers who have purchased the recalled Southern Grove Unsalted Almonds should not consumer them. The almonds can be returned to an ALDI store for a full refund.
