Aston Martin is recalling certain model year 2014 DB9 and Rapide S vehicles because the transmission may inadvertently shift to neutral.

If the transmission shifts to neutral without warning, it will be impossible for the driver to maintain speed or move the car out of traffic. The problem in more than 400 affected vehicles is caused by a faulty circuit board.

If the vehicle exhibits this problem, the company advises drivers to turn off the ignition and then restart the car which may allow it to be driven out of harm's way.

Aston Martin will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected circuit boards, free of charge. Owners with questions can contact Aston Martin customer service at (888) 923-9988. Aston Martin's number for this recall is RA-07-0018.
