RECALL: 115,000 Lexus GS and IS Vehicles at Risk of Fuel Leak, Fire
The diaphragms in the fuel pulsation dampers may harden over time and develop cracks
Around 115,000 Lexus vehicles have been recalled by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing because the diaphragms in the fuel pulsation dampers may harden over time and develop cracks, possibly causing a fuel leak.
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
The vehicles impacted by this recall include model year 2007-2011 Lexus GS350 and GS450h vehicles, 2006-2013 Lexus IS350 vehicles, and 2010-2014 Lexus IS350C vehicles, all of which are equipped with 3.5L V6 2GR-FSE gasoline engines.
What happens next?
Owners of the recalled Lexus GS and IS vehicles will be notified by Toyota in August 2018. Lexus dealers will then replace the fuel delivery pipe with a new pipe that has improved pulsation dampers. This repair will be completed free of charge.
