The manufacturer of a bunk bed sold exclusively at Havertys is issuing a recall after reports of children falling from broken beds.

American Woodcrafters has received two reports of children falling from the bed after the mattress support railings broke. About 1,900 beds are affected by the recall.

Specifically, the recall involves Cottage Retreat II bunk beds with a side ladder. The white-finish beds were sold in twin over twin and twin over full combinations. American Woodcrafters, Made in Indonesia and SKU number 6310-9771 are printed on a label attached to the inside of one of the four rails.

The beds were sold exclusively for Havertys stores nationwide and online from September 2011 through March 2014 for between $600 and $1,000.

Consumers should immediately stop using the beds and contact Havertys to arrange for the free installation of replacement rails. American Woodcrafters and Havertys are also contacting their customers directly.

Havertys can be contacted toll-free at (888) 428-3789.
