Micro Bird is issuing a recall for buses due to structural concerns.

The manufacturer announced that it is voluntarily recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Micro Bird MB II school buses. The affected buses were incorrectly tested to verify their roof strength and rollover protection and therefore cannot be assured to protect the occupants during a rollover.

In a school bus rollover, risk of injury would be increased.

These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 220, "School Bus Rollover Protection."

Micro Bird is including about 400 buses in this recall.

The remedy for this recall is still under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule for this campaign.

Owners with questions about this recall can contact Micro Bird at (819) 477-2012.
