One truck manufacturer has run into trouble after implementing cab extensions to their product.

A seatbelt defect has forced Rush Truck Centers of Texas to issue a recall for three different modified models manufactured over the last five years. The models include 2011-2016 Peterbilt 337, 2013-2015 Peterbilt 348, and 2014 Peterbilt 382.

These models were converted from a conventional day cab to a crew cab and the alterations resulted in potentially dangerous seatbelt anchorages. The defect could cause the anchor to pull away, leaving the passenger unsecured and increasing the risk of injury.

Rush will contact owners affected by the recall, but has not yet provided a notification schedule.

The solution for this recall has not yet been determined. Those concerned should contact Rush at (713) 766-3007.
