Sportex has recalled 3,900 salt rock lamps due to a shock and fire hazard. This notice expands the original recall of 80,000 lamps that was issued in January 2017.

The dimmer switch and/or outlet plug may overheat and ignite, posing a risk of shock and fire.

The affected products include Lumière Rock Salt Lamps in the following styles: Basket of Rocks, Carnival of Lights, and Rock of Gibraltar. They are pink and are mounted either on a wooden base or in a black metal basket. They were sold in black cardboard boxes that included a photo of the lamp on the front and the UPC number on the bottom.

The following UPC numbers are included in this recall:

  • Rock of Gibraltar with UPC 00886946056253
  • Carnival of Lights with UPC 00886946058325
  • Basket of Rocks with UPC 00886946056277

The lamps were sold at At Home superstores, Christmas tree shops, Michaels stores, and other retailers across the U.S. from July 2016 until December 2016. They were sold for between $15 and $30.

Although no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall, consumers are urged to stop using the lamps immediately and to take them back to the place of purchase for either a full refund or a replacement kit.
