Corp. Micro Bird Inc. is recalling certain model year 2012-2017 MB II school buses.

In the event of a rollover crash, the buses' roof strength may be insufficient to prevent the roof from crushing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 220, "School Bus Rollover Protection."

If the school bus roof crushes during a rollover crash, the occupants have an increased risk of injury.

Approximately 600 MB II school buses are affected by this recall.

Micro Bird will notify owners of the recalled school buses beginning on May 12, 2017, and dealers will modify the buses to prevent the roof from crushing. These repairs will be conducted free of charge.
