Smoked Turkey Drumstick Products Recalled Due to Misbranding and Undeclared Allergens

Belmont Sausage Co. is recalling an undetermined amount of smoked turkey drumstick products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

The products contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

People who are allergic to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Recall Details

The recalled smoked turkey drumstick items were produced from September 27, 2015 through September 27, 2017. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 25- to 29-oz. plastic-lined, boxed packages containing 18 pieces of Wolverine Packing Co. complete protein solutions Smoked Turkey Drumsticks with lot code 20144.
  • 20- to 24-oz. plastic-lined, boxed packages containing 20 pieces of Wolverine Packing Co. complete protein solutions Smoked Turkey Drumsticks with lot code 20148.

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number P-21309 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to an institutional location in Michigan that further distributed them nationwide.

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

What should consumers do?

Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled smoked turkey drumsticks are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
