Defective Software in Certain Infiniti Vehicles May Reduce Steering Ability
The steering system may experience an error when the vehicle is started
Nissan is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Infiniti Q50 vehicles and Infiniti Q50 Hybrid vehicles.
The Direct Adaptive Steering system may experience an error at vehicle start-up, altering the vehicle's steering responsiveness and turning radius. If the vehicle does not steer as the driver anticipates, there is an increased risk of a crash.
The manufacturer believes that about 28,000 vehicles are impacted by this issue.
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Direct Adaptive Steering ECU software free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin by August 9, 2016.
