Solar Panels Being Recalled by Bosch Solar Services Due to Fire Hazard

Bosch Solar Services has recalled about 28,000 roof-mounted solar panels due to a risk of fire.

The Roof-Mounted Bosch Photovoltaic Solar Modules can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

The affected panels include model number c-Si M 60 NA30119. Each measures roughly 65 inches by 39 inches by 1.65 inches and weighs slightly less than 42 pounds. The solar cells are contained in a glass-foil laminate that is framed by an anodized aluminum profit. The panel's output power is 245 watt peak.

The recalled products were sold by commercial installers across the country from October 2011 until May 2013 for roughly $300 per panel.

There have been no injuries or incidents reported in relation to this recall. Consumers are urged to contact their installer to find out if their panels are included in the recall. If they are, consumers should contact Bosch to arrange for free panel replacement.
