As if spiders weren't creepy and crawly enough, they are now the cause of a recall affecting more than 19,200 cars.

Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2010 – 2013 Kizashi vehicles that were manufactures between October 2009 and July 2012.

Spiders, in their effort to rid the world of even more creepy bugs than themselves, may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent hose. This could create an excessive amount of negative pressure in the fuel tank. Negative pressure could cause the tank to crack, increasing the risk of a fire.

Suzuki is in the process of notifying owners of the problem. Dealers will replace the evaporative canister line vent with another that has a filter on the end. During the inspection, if a canister vent line is already obstructed by a spider web, the fuel tank will also be replaced. The repairs will be performed free of charge. Owners with questions or concerns can contact Suzuki customer service at (800) 934-0934. Suzuki's number for this recall is VG.
