Target Recalls Circo Kids Night Lights Due to Fire Hazard

July 21, 2015

That night light in the corner that just caught on fire isn't showing you a cool new feature. It's something you should fix.

Target is recalling about 143,000 night lights after discovery of a fire hazard. Circo brand night lights are battery-operated units that include an AC adapter. The battery can overheat and cause the night light to melt, posing a fire hazard.

These night lights were sold exclusively at Target between October 2014 and May 2015. The items retailed for about $15.

Circo offers six designs in its collection: a pink hedgehog, a blue bird, a yellow rocket, and orange dinosaur egg, a white soccer ball, and a green shark. All six are subject to recall.

Target has received two reports of night lights overheating, including one report of a fire that damaged a consumer's dresser, wall and plug-in. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the product and return to recalled night lights to Target for a full refund. Customers with questions can contact Target at (800) 440-0680.
