Threat of Electrical Short Leads to Nissan Frontier Recall
A fire risk has initiated a truck recall from Nissan North America.
The automaker is recalling certain 2016 Frontier V6 vehicles. The starter motor wire harness may have been installed in an incorrect position, allowing the starter harness terminal to contact the heat shield and result in an electrical short.
An electrical short increases the risk of a fire and potential injury to occupants.
Nissan is including about 1,500 trucks in its recall.
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and reposition the starter wire harness, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin April 2016.
