Toyota is recalling certain model year 2016 Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid vehicles. The front driveshaft on the affected vehicles may separate.

What's the risk?

A front driveshaft separation would result in a loss of propulsion while driving. Additionally, if the driver exits the vehicle without applying the parking brake, the vehicle may roll. Both scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Approximately 670 Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid vehicles are included in this recall.

What happens next?

Toyota will notify owners of the impacted vehicles beginning in mid-August 2017. Local Toyota dealers will then check the serial number of the vehicle's driveshaft, replacing any that are affected. This repair will be completed free of charge to vehicle owners.
