Toyota Recalling More Than 310,000 Sienna Minivans That Could Roll Away
The shift lever can be moved out of the 'Park' position without depressing the brake pedal
Toyota has issued a recall for more than 310,000 model year 2005-2007 and 2009-2010 Toyota Sienna minivans.
What's the problem?
Due to a problem within the shift lock solenoid in the affected vehicles, the shift lever can be moved out of the 'Park' position without depressing the brake pedal.
If the shift lever is moved from the 'Park' position without depressing the brake pedal and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could suddenly roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.
What happens next?
Toyota will notify owners of the recalled Sienna minivans beginning in early December 2017. Toyota dealers will then replace the shift lock solenoid, free of charge.
