Toyota Recalling Thousands of Camrys Due to Risk of Fuel Leak, Fire
The fuel delivery pipes may not be properly connected to the fuel hoses in the engine compartment
Around 11,800 model year 2018 Toyota Camry vehicles equipped with V6 engines are being recalled by the automaker.
What's the problem?
These vehicles have fuel delivery pipes that may not be properly connected to the fuel hoses in the engine compartment.
The improperly connected hoses may leak fuel, which, in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a vehicle fire.
What happens next?
Toyota will notify owners of the affected Camry vehicles beginning in late March 2018. Toyota dealers will then inspect the fuel pipes to ensure that they are correctly installed. If they are not, the problem will be corrected free of charge to vehicle owners.
