Pierce Manufacturing is issuing a recall for vehicles with faulty transmissions.

The emergency vehicle manufacturer is voluntarily recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Arrow XT, Velocity, Enforcer, and Saber vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with front drive axles that feature hex nuts on the flange yoke that may not have been properly tightened.

If the hex nuts are not tightened to specification, the driveshaft may disconnect from the drive axle, resulting in a loss of propulsion and increasing the risk of a crash.

Pierce is including five vehicles in this recall.

Pierce will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the hex nuts, tightening them as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 9, 2015.

Owners with questions about the recall can contact Pierce customer service at (888) 974-3723.
