Trek Issues Recall for Bontrager Line Pro Bicycle Pedals Due to Fall Hazard

Trek is recalling approximately 10,000 pairs of Bontrager Line Pro flat bicycle pedals that were sold in the United States and Canada.

The spindle of one or both of the recalled bicycle pedals can break, posing a fall hazard to the rider.

REcall Details

This recall involves all Bontrager Line Pro flat bicycle pedals. The aluminum pedals come in orange and black. Line Pro and Bontrager are printed on the body of the pedal.

The affected Bontrager pedals were sold at independent bicycle stores nationwide and online from April 2016 through June 2018.

Trek says that it has received five reports of broken spindles in the bicycle pedals. No injuries have been reported, to date.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle pedals and take them to a Trek retailer for a free repair.
