Triangle Tire USA has issued a recall for certain Triangle TR643 car tires, size ST225/75R15.

What's the problem?

Due to a manufacturing process error, the affected tires may have a hole where the sidewall and the tread meet, resulting in an air leak. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 109, "New Pneumatic and Certain Specialty Tires."

If the tire does not stay inflated, it can increase the risk of a crash.

What happens next?

Triangle Tire will notify owners of the recalled tires beginning in mid-September 2017. Dealers will then replace the tires free of charge.
