Two New Products to Kill Bed Bugs Approved by Food and Drug Administration
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced new regulations for two products designed to kill bed bugs.
Both products contain Neem oil, which is made from Neem trees found in Southeast Asia and Africa.
According to the EPA, the products are non-toxic and have a long history of safe use in a variety of different applications.
The two new products are:
- TER-TRU1, containing 5.5% Cold Pressed Neem Oil, a ready-to-use formulation for spot treatment by residential and commercial users; and
- TER-CX1, containing 22.0% Cold Pressed Neem Oil, is a concentrate formulation for commercial use in the treatment of whole rooms.
Based on data, both products meet safety and effectiveness standards and are show to control bed bug adults, nymphs, and eggs.
The EPA is continuing efforts with the industry and researchers to find new ways to control bed bugs.
