Ford has issued two recalls for certain model year 2015 Transit cargo vans.

About 600 vehicles are affected by a recall involving vans without rear seats and are equipped with windowless sliding doors that could unlatch during a crash.

These vans may have been manufactured with the epoxy reinforcement on the sliding doors. Without this reinforcement, it is possible that the door could unlatch during a crash, increasing the risk that a passenger could be thrown from the vehicle.

Ford will notify owners of the problem. Dealers will install a reinforcement plate into the windowless sliding door, free of charge. Ford's number for this recall is 14S16. Owners can contact Ford customer service at (800) 392-3673 for more information about this recall.

Additionally, in 1,300 vans, brake fluid could leak from the brake hose/caliper junctions at the rear of the vehicle.

A brake fluid leak could lengthen the distance needed to stop the van. If both of the rear brake junctions leak, there could be a complete loss of braking. Either of these scenarios increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners of the problem, and dealers will replace the sealing washers on both rear brake caliper to brake hose joints, free of charge. Owners can contact Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S15.
