Undeclared Milk Prompts Ravioli Recall from The Wornick Company

about 62,000 pounds of the product is subject to recall

June 26, 2017

The Wornick Company has announced that it is recalling approximately 62,000 pounds of beef ravioli products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product may contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

The recalled item is packaged in a 14.5-ounce plastic bowl bearing the name Sam's Choice ASIAN STYLE BEEF WONTON Ravioli, a best-if-used-by date of Feb. 22, 2018 or Mar. 28, 2018, and establishment number EST. 19076 inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) mark of inspection.

These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the company received notification from an ingredient supplier that the beef ravioli the company received and used in the recalled products potentially contained undeclared milk.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

Consumers with questions about the recall can contact The Wornick Company's Paul Morris at (513) 552-7485.
