Unexpected Tilting Prompts Aerial Device Recall from Terex
April 15, 2016
Terex has announced a recall for aerial devices due to a fall risk.
The company is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 HR, HRX, TC, TCX, and SML aerial devices. The affected aerial devices may have inadequate welds at the boom tip leveling sprockets. A failure of these welds may result in the platform tilting unexpectedly.
If the platform tilts unexpectedly, the user may fall, exposing the user to a risk of injury.
The remedy plan has not been finalized, so the number of recalled devices is unclear.
The manufacturer will notify owners, but has not yet determined a schedule.
Owners with questions about this recall can contact Terex South Dakota at (800) 982-8975.
