In what seems like a weekly occurrence, we have another recall update from Forest River, Inc. There are four new recalls.

Recall #1

First, the Elkhart, IN recreational vehicle manufacturer is recalling certain model year 2015 Palomino PaloMini vehicles. The cambers in the axle tubes may have been installed upside down. This can cause the tube to appear bent downward towards the ground, when the bend should be pointing upwards to the unit floor.

A misplaced camber may come in contact with a tire, a spindle or other components leading to fracture or failure, and increasing the risk of a crash. There are 23 vehicles involved in this recall.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and reposition any misplaced cambers, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 25, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at (269) 432-3246.

Recall #2

Next, Forest River is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Cedar Creek Silver Back recreational vehicles. The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) that is less than the vehicle's GVWR represented on its certification label. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

This inaccurate representation can mislead an owner as to the vehicle's weight carrying capacity which could result in vehicle overloading and a crash. 91 vehicles are being recalled in relation to this issue.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a new set of corrected certification labels, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 25, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at (260) 593-2417.

Recall #3

The firm is also recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Sandpiper and Sierra recreational vehicles. The affected vehicles may be equipped with Certification labels with an inaccurate gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 567, "Certification."

An inaccurate weight rating on a certification label conveys inaccurate information to the vehicle owner or operator about that vehicle's load carrying capacity, thereby increasing the risk of vehicle overloading which can cause tire failure and a crash. This announcement applies to 207 vehicles.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will provide a new federal certification label, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 25, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at (574) 534-8386.

Recall #4

Lastly, Forest River is recalling certain model year 2015 Glaval Bus Apollo, Concorde, Entourage, and Legacy, and Elkhart Coach ECE4, 2014-2016 AllStar XL, and 2014-2015 Forest River Rockport, Starcraft Starquest, AllStar, Starlite, AllStar MVP, XLT, and Xpress vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with a back-up camera system which may display images from the camera in reverse.

If an object or person are on the left side of the screen but are actually on the right side of the vehicle, or vice versa, there is an increased risk of a crash. 160 vehicles are being recalled due to this defect.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will replace the camera, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin September 11, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at (574) 264-5179.
