Wegmans Food Markets has implemented a recall for Wegmans Thai Sweet Chili Sauce because the product may contain undeclared egg.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Recalled Product Details

The affected Thai Sweet Chili Sauce was sold individually at Wegmans stores located in NY, NJ, PA, VA, MD, and MA with a UPC code of 7-66630-98023 and a 'best-by' date of of 7/4/18 or 7/5/18.

The sauce is also sold at Wegmans stores with the following packaged Sushi/Asian products, which are also being recalled:

Wegmans Avocado Summer Roll, 2 Pack, 5 oz.
UPC: 2-48762-00000 or 2-48920-00000
Only packages with a use by date of 3/10/18 are affected.

Wegmans Assorted Gyoza (Dumplings), Family Pack, 17 oz.
UPC: 2-48798-00000 or 2-48963-00000
Only packages with a use by date ranging from 3/9/18 through 3/12/18 are affected.

Reports of Illness

There have been no injuries or illnesses reported to date associated with this recall.

Wegmans says that it will place automated phone calls to customers who purchased the impacted products using their Shoppers Club card.

What should consumers do?

Customers who purchased the recalled Wegmans Thai Sweet Chili Sauce individually or with the above mentioned Sushi/Asian products should return it to the in-store service desk for a full refund.
