West Elm Recalling Rectangular Glass Tables That Could Shatter Without Warning
So far West Elm has received nine reports of the glass table tops shattering
West Elm is recalling around 5,400 tempered glass dining tables that can shatter unexpectedly, posing a laceration and injury hazard to the user or bystanders.
The recalled West Elm Jensen rectangular glass tables have a solid wood A-frame base and a clear glass top. The table measures 76 inches long by 36 inches wide by 30 inches high.
Only tables with a SKU number of 4737003 or 7912629 are included in the recall. The SKU number is printed on the table's packaging.
West Elm says that it has received nine reports of the glass table top shattering. No injuries have been reported, to date.
Where and when were they sold?
The affected Jensen rectangular glass tables were sold at West Elm stores nationwide, through West Elm's catalog, and at westelm.com from September 2014 through December 2016 for between $480 and $600 each.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tables and contact West Elm to receive a free replacement table top. All customers known to have purchased Jensen tables are being contacted by West Elm directly.
