Two safety issues are prompting two more recalls from Forest River, Inc.

The recreational vehicle manufacturer is recalling certain model year 2016 Shasta Airflyte 16 and Shasta Airflyte 19 trailers, due to problems with the rear window and the tire clearance. Forest River believes that more than 1,700 trailers are potentially impacted.

In the affected vehicles, the rear exit window glass may come loose and fall out due to poor adhesion. If the rear window glass detaches, it could fall onto the road and be a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Additionally, the affected trailers may have insufficient clearance between the tire and the wheel well at the top of the tire tread and at the inner sidewall. If there is insufficient tire clearance, the tire may rub, resulting in sudden tire failure which could increase the risk of a crash.

Forest River will notify owners and dealers will perform the appropriate inspections and repairs, free of charge. The wheel clearance recall is scheduled to begin on October 26, 2015 while the window glass recall will begin on October 28, 2015.

Owners with questions about this recall should contact Forest River customer service at (574) 825-8717.
