Presence of Glass Fragments Prompts Recall of Ukrop's Meat Products

Ukrop's Homestyle Foods has announced a recall for a product due to the presence of foreign material.

The company is recalling about 2,900 pounds of turkey, pork, and beef products. The announcement was made after receiving a recall notice from Roland for its Fire Roasted Red Pepper Strips, an ingredient in several Ukrop's products. The items may contain glass fragments.

The ready-to-eat items subject to recall were packed on April 1-2, 2016 and bear sell-by dates of 04/04/2016 and 04/05/2016. These include 9.25 ounce, individually packaged Roasted Turkey & Colby Jack Pinwheels, Black Forest Ham & Provolone Pinwheels, and Angus Roast Beef & Cheddar Pinwheels and 41 ounce Honey Ham & Honey Turkey Pinwheel Tray, Honey Turkey & Havarti Pinwheel Tray, and Honey Ham & Swiss Pinwheel Tray. The products feature establishment numbers EST. 19979 and P-19979 inside the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) mark of inspection.

These items were distributed to retail locations in North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
